On Dec. 29th, Clutch dove back into the studio in Altona’s YFC drop-in center, “The Station”, to begin recording for his debut solo LP entitled ‘Notebooking’. The project features 10 songs that are a mixture of classic hip hop, new school, and spoken word. Guests include Sev Statik (Tunnel Rats/ Deepspace5) and The Custodians (The Runaway, Crisis, Qu-C). The project is entirely produced by Clutch, save one beat from Re:Flex the Architect (Scribbling Idiots). No release date set. Check the video below.

From Clutch: “Beat Tape 11 is a project that came about after a lunch with some friends. After the lunch my friend Harvey Rempel took me to a record store that was having a sale. I got a box full of great stuff that he and I dug out and picked through. I set off with a plan: out of these records I would craft a Beat Tape. I inserted a few beats from my vaults and added sound clips from a few new sources. Months later, with hours of more work, here is Beat Tape 11.”

From NIFTY: “It’s been over 5 years since I released my last album. A LOT has happened to me since then, a lot of trials and a lot of growth. So naturally, I have a lot to share, and I’ve shared it on this new project entitled, “THE ONES”

The Ones stands for “Through HIS Example, Our Numbers Enter Salvation” – It is a collection of 11 messages intended for 11 different groups of people (i.e. single parents, Christian skeptics, young singles etc.) Every song refers back to an example or principle of Christ.

My prayer is that it will encourage, entertain and edify each listener. If you have a few bucks to spare, please take some time to support this project and share it with your family and friends. I have received so many great testimonies from a few of the tracks, so I hope the album will bless you as well.

The Runaway, Clutch, and Crisis formed a group called The Custodians. They’re having a show in support of raising funds for metowe.com and their trip to Equador.
